The practical achievement of Branding and good Usability on the Web requires a good understanding of Browser technology. Too many sites emphasise ‘pretty graphics’ rather than content.

This example (a home finance/trading application launched by Yamaichi in April 1997) shows extensive use of colour to differentiate content and to aid navigation for a transaction product.  This product had real functionality, it did not just serve information.
